Unexpected Revelations about Food and Money. It’s her personal experience. Definitely worth the read if you have an eating disorder or any kind of food issues.
The book also opened my eyes to why people willingly create drama in their lives. Grneen buries our emotions; emotions shouldn’t be suppressed inside – they should be placed outside.
Her father, at times, absent and emotionally unavailable. If you picked up this book, odds are you are looking to find your healing. Posted on October 15, More often than not, a lot of people feel a self-help book has nothing to offer them.
It takes a lot of pain to realize you’ve had enough of perpetuating something that is no longer relevant and to come to trust that it is not necessary — you can live without your pain. Roth writes with lyricism and awareness; it is difficult not to feel her suffering, and by the same token, her growth as she reckons with the pain of an abusive mother and unavailable father and its effects on her eating and relationships. But it won’t ever happen – because the guy is a bad boy and he’ll stay that way. But her welcome message is that change is possible. So I left the store with nothing.
An incredible book that I’d love to read again in order to fully apply it to my life and make the changes I need.
